About Lyra Current

Business problems first. Technology where it earns its place.

Lyra Current is a Canberra-based Australian software and automation company serving SMEs across Australia.

The company exists to reduce operational friction through software, automation, connected systems and appropriate applied AI.

Why the company exists

Too much business effort still disappears between systems and manual steps.

Useful technology should reduce repetitive workload, avoidable cost and manual error while improving visibility—and give people more time for work that requires judgement.

Common operating friction

  1. 01Repetitive administration
  2. 02Information copied between systems
  3. 03Duplicated records and manual follow-up
  4. 04Important work that is difficult to see
  5. 05Software that stops short of the real workflow

The perspective behind the company

Operations and engineering belong in the same conversation.

Better systems come from understanding both how a business actually runs and how dependable software should be designed.

Input / 01

Business operations

  • Real workflows
  • Staff and process constraints
  • Cost and time pressure
  • Management visibility
  • Day-to-day operating reality

Software engineering

  • Software architecture
  • Workflow automation
  • System integration
  • Cloud and data platforms
  • Applied AI with reliability boundaries

Founder-led accountability

One accountable point of contact, without turning the company into a personal portfolio.

Lyra Current stays close to the operational problem and the engineering decisions behind the solution. Lean, direct delivery reduces unnecessary coordination while keeping responsibility visible.

Founder / 01

Ziyu (Mario) Lu

Founder & Director

A background spanning software, finance and hands-on business operations shapes how Lyra Current approaches practical business systems.

Mario began programming in 2012, later completed a Master of Computing at the Australian National University, and has continued learning and building software over the years.

His current engineering focus is practical business systems that connect software, data, automation and applied AI around real operational workflows. Hands-on management experience—including hospitality operations and exposure to accounting, software and cloud-service environments—keeps that work grounded in operating reality.

Company principles

Practical constraints shape better decisions.

These principles explain why Lyra Current approaches operational technology with restraint, direct responsibility and engineering discipline.

  1. 01Direct responsibility

Communicate directly with the person responsible for designing the solution.

  2. 02Understand before building

Start from the business and operational problem, not from a favourite technology.

  3. 03Use what already works

Keep suitable software and connect, automate or extend it before replacing it.

  4. 04Keep solutions proportionate

Start small where sensible and increase investment when working evidence justifies it.

  5. 05Engineer for reliability

Security, maintainability, failure modes, data handling and human review belong inside the design.

Where we are building from

Local context. Broad technical range. A clear direction.

Lyra Current is deliberately small and focused today: close enough to understand the work, broad enough to connect the systems around it, and building toward more capable business software without losing control.

01 / Presence

Canberra-based, serving Australian SMEs.

Lyra Current is based in Canberra and works with businesses across Australia.

02 / Working range

See the operational system, then use only what is needed.

  • Custom web applications
  • Workflow automation
  • System integration
  • Cloud and data systems
  • Document automation
  • Applied AI

Experience also includes Microsoft business and cloud tooling: Azure, Power Apps, Power Automate and Dataverse.

03 / Direction

More intelligent software, without losing control.

Lyra Current is being built for a future in which business software becomes more capable while remaining secure, accountable and useful in real operations. Reliability, security and explicit human approval remain important design boundaries.
